WATFORD PALACE THEATRE - TICKETS

Although the Palace’s opening production last Autumn (after the long closure) wasn’t to everyone’s taste, the first full programme of productions for Spring 2005 appears to have something for everyone.

I have already purchased tickets for those who asked for them for the first play of the year, for Friday 4 February.  This is “Sitting Pretty”, a new play by Amy Rosenthal, which has toured the country successfully.  It is about two unmarried sisters in their 50s who have to face up to the remainder of their lives.  It is directed by the lady who recently directed “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” in the West End.

The subsequent productions are:

24th February to 19th March     I Have Been Here Before

One of J B Priestly’s ‘time plays’, this one set in a quiet B & B on the Yorkshire Moors.

31st March to 23rd April            Flying Under Bridges by Sarah Daniels

A comic look at a middle England family adapted from Sandy Toksvig’s second novel.

26th to 30th April                        Pyrenees by David Greg

A naked man is found lying in the snow at the foot of the Pyrenees – he remembers nothing.  The play charts the course of his attempts, with the help of the British Consul and his wife, to retrieve his past.

If you would like to go to any or all of these, please let me know on 01923 855944 as soon as possible.  By booking at least 10 tickets each time the cost is reduced substantially (i.e. good stall seats from £18 to £13).  We normally plan to go on Friday nights and the projected dates are:

                                 Friday 4th March

                                 Friday 8th April

Friday 29th April (only for one week)

After these, the next production is “Alfie”, a new musical based on the novel by Bill Naughton.  Casting is still to be arranged but I don’t think Michael Caine will reprise his role !  I’ll let you know about tickets later.

Regards,
