Chairman's Report

Several members of the Players were at the Barnet and District Drama Festival Awards night on 4th June to see Bob Tourkow presented with the Adjudicator's Special Award for his excellent lighting in our last play 'The Small Hours.' Many congratulations to Bob for this well deserved acolade.

On June 12th we braved the rain at the Radlett Carnival to run our 'Human Fruit Machine' which brought a smile to many faces and one customer said it was the maddest thing he had ever seen. On June 26th we ran the 'machine' again at the Shenley fete, this time in blazing sunshine.

The One Act play evening on June 18th was very well attended and several of the audience had to stand to see a performance of 'Between Mouthfuls' by Alan Ayckbourn produced by Paula Welham and acted by Philip Eastburn, Pauline Mead, Simon Tompkins, Sharon Chernick and Willum Scott with props provided by Georgia Dove. Well done to everyone involved in this highly successful and entertaining performance.

The read through of 'When We Are Married' on 23rd June was also well attended and the Auditions for this play will be held on Wednesday 20th July at the Scouts HQ at Kent Lodge in Scrubbitts Lane

On 6th July we read 'Run For Your Wife' by Ray Cooney, which is a hilarious farce and kept us laughing all evening.

This month there will be the Summer Barbeque on 16th July at Sandra Anders house on Aldenham Avenue. If you would like to perform a song or poem etc please phone Sandra on 01923 856630

The AGM will be on 18th July at the United Reform Church, Station Road, Radlett at 8pm.

We look forward to seeing you at these events.

Merle
